Hello, Folks!
It’s been about a month since our last update. September flew by with big emphasis on Disaster Recovery and the Cloud. Summaries are below.
In addition to product announcements, we also welcomed new customers to the AIS family, including CtrlS Datacenters, Hold-Free Networks, and Phoenix Children’s Academy. There are many reasons why companies choose AIS for their data center services; just a few are listed below.
One more thing: have you heard about AIS structured cabling? Our in-house team can deliver exceptional, professional results based on much experience over many dozens of projects. Q4 2012 is the perfect time to transform “spaghetti and bird nests” into true showpieces. Ask your AIS representative.
As always, we value your business and seek your feedback. Contact me directly by replying or by sending a note to brian.wood@aisdevsite.propelmg.com.

Last week we announced availability of our flagship AIS BusinessCloud1 service in Phoenix. Originally unveiled in June 2012, AIS BusinessCloud1 is San Diego’s first full-featured VMware-based cloud service built with state-of-the-art compute, network, and storage technologies optimized for security, performance, and reliability.
For those not already familiar, AIS BusinessCloud1 is a phenomenally flexible and powerful cloud service that empowers clients to spin up and tear down virtual machines on-the-fly — with the option to only pay for the resources used.
Cloud services are the wave of the future, so ask your AIS representative to learn more or to schedule a complimentary AIS BusinessCloud1 trial.

To coincide with our participation in the Disaster Recovery Journal conference that took place in San Diego from Sept 9 to 11, AIS unveiled the Phoenix “DR Vault” special, which is designed to accelerate the implementation of IT disaster recovery plans while overcoming cost hurdles.
For a limited time, any new or existing client that signs up for one year of AIS Disaster Recovery Service will receive one terabyte (1 TB) of premium NetApp storage at no charge for one year — a $1,200 value.
There is still time to take advantage of this deal; learn more about it here or ask your AIS representative.

Our Experts
Frank Gaff on SOC
Earlier in August we announced that AIS successfully completed the SSAE 16 SOC 3 audit for our San Diego and Phoenix enterprise-class data centers. If you didn’t already know, this is a big dang deal.
Regarding the significance, Frank Gaff, AIS chief compliance officer, explained:
“The key difference between the AIS SOC 2 report and a SOC 3 report is that the former is restricted-use available to current clients through a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). It contains a detailed description of the service auditor’s tests of controls and results of those tests conducted at AIS as well as the service auditor’s opinion on the description of AIS’ services provided.
The AIS SOC 3 report is designed to meet the needs of current and prospective clients that want assurance of the controls at AIS related to security and availability but do not have the need for, or the knowledge to make effective use of, our detailed SOC 2 report.”
Frank recently posted a related blog: “Why Compliance Reports Matter“.
