Founded in 1989 as American Internet Services, LLC, AIS increased scale through the acquisition of several San Diego-based Internet Service Providers including WebCC, ADNC and Internet Express. AIS added further capacity and capabilities in 2008 through the acquisition of the Complex Drive chain of data centers. In 2012 AIS expanded into cloud services by adding  multi-tenant Cloud Services from its San Diego and Phoenix locations. In 2016 AIS became directly connected to AWS. 

The company is led by an experienced, award winning management team and is backed by seasoned private equity investment professionals at Seaport Capital, Viridian Investments, and DuPont Capital Management. Key company milestones include:
