Updated Compliance Audits and Certifications

AIS recently completed its second round of SSAE 16 SOC Type 2 audits — this time spanning an entire year of Security and Availability validation from May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013.

AIS is the ONLY Southwestern service provider with SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 Type 2 audits for compliance.

These audits are major differentiators for AIS. When evaluating data center service providers, always ask to see the audit report!

AIS Customer Referral Promotion

AIS is offering a special incentive for customer referrals that result in new business: up to two months of free service for the business referrer. Here is how it works:

  1. Refer a prospective new customer to your AIS representative; we’ll confirm right away whether it is already an opportunity on which we are working.
  2. If the opportunity is not already in our pipeline, then when we win the deal* we’ll reward your company with credit for up to two months of free service.
  3. If the new business MRR (monthly recurring revenue) amount is less than or equal to your firm’s MRR, we’ll credit your account the new business amount.
  4. If the new business MRR is greater than your firm’s current MRR, we’ll credit your account the amount of MRR of the new deal up to two months’ worth of free service.
  5. *Note: Service credit will be applied to the referring customer after the new customer has been installed and provisioned — and has actually paid for the first month of service.

This is win-win deal – a great way to save your firm some money while also cultivating new business for AIS. Ask your AIS representative for more details.

CALBIO and VMUG Events Successful!

logo-biocom affiliationsAIS was the Platinum Sponsor of the biotech community’s biggest event of the year, CALBIO, held in San Diego on June 13-14.

In addition to kicking off the entire event by introducing the keynote speaker, Dr. J. Craig Venter, founder of JCVI and a co-founder of Synthetic Genomics, Inc., we also put together a short fun video that highlights AIS ClearCompute, our bioinformatics SaaS offering.

logo-vmugAIS was also the Platinum Sponsor of the San Diego VMware User Group (VMUG) meeting on April 30. For our keynote speech we actually featured customer Liquid Grids and gave CEO Malcolm Bohm and CTO Ramos Mays the podium to explain why they moved from AWS to AIS cloud services.

See the Liquid Grids VMUG presentation (and hear the audio) here.

AIS Cloud Services

AIS offers a family of solutions uniquely tailored to the needs of companies in and around the Southwest.

>> The AIS BusinessCloud1 instances in San Diego and Phoenix are completely autonomous from each other in terms of connectivity and functionality. This operational isolation ensures the highest level of Disaster Recovery capabilities while maintaining accessibility.

>> We are the only regional service provider to launch a cloud-based bioinformatics service, AIS ClearCompute. This Software-as-a-Service offering provides popular on-demand sequencing tools for the genomics and pharmaceutical industries including BLAST, Galaxy, and RNA-Seq.

AIS ClearCompute has been featured in the San Diego Business Journal.

“Remote Hands” Technical Staff

Over 75% of our employees are directly involved in technical and engineering support to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

That’s a huge benefit and something that tends to be overlooked.

Clean Up Your Cage with AIS Structured Cabling

Have you heard about AIS structured cabling? Our in-house team can deliver exceptional, professional results based on much experience over many dozens of projects.

Now is the perfect time to transform “spaghetti and bird nests” into true showpieces.

Cabling is often overlooked or taken for granted, but even the major equipment vendors will be the first to say that all of their devices are useless if the cabling is incapable of supporting the applications. Understanding the data center standards, identifying cabling objectives, and choosing the right components will go a long way toward ensuring reliable performance and operation. It is a decision that can save time, money, and frustration – both now and in the long run.

Let us do your cabling work and enjoy a professional, high-quality outcome with superior value and satisfaction. Please contact your AIS representative for more details.

AIS Blogs – Relevant News, Commentary, Trends

Our Blog Pages are where we offer expert opinion and relevant articles on topics that matter to our clients.

For example, we’ve been posting lately about the upcoming SDG&E power rate increases, IT spending forecasts, and cyber security.

We invite you to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn so that you will know when something new has been posted.

Your thoughts and feedback are important; please use whichever communications avenue you prefer (e.g., social media, email, etc.) to let us know what’s on your mind.

Well-Established and Growing

AIS has been providing enterprise-class IT services since 1989. Our business has grown to the point where we now serve over 500 customers via seven facilities in the Southwest – with a particular emphasis on geographic diversity for disaster recovery.

Phoenix is a great DR location.

According to the most recent report by 451 Research, AIS continues to be the market leader in San Diego — by far. We thank each and every customer for their business. Long may you stay (and grow) with AIS!

Killer Network Connectivity

AIS has been committed to connectivity for a long, long time. In fact, we are the ONLY Southwestern service provider that operates its own regional optical and dark fiber network, which we manage with Cisco-certified staff.

We operate our own MPLS network spanning from Los Angeles to San Diego to Phoenix.

Our connectivity is the backbone of our disaster recovery / business continuity solutions and the gateway to our cloud services.
