Welcome to the Fall Update. We decided to combine September and October into one action-filled dispatch. There are a lot of event-related activities to talk about.
To start, at the 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Symposium & Awardsthat is taking place next Tuesday, October 25, 2011 (from 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, AIS is a title sponsor and will be participating in several of the “tracks.”
BUSINESS TRACK for the Business Continuity Panel, taking place from 1:55 – 2:35PM, will delve into business considerations for continuity of operations including the trade-offs that need to be weighed. Moderated by Dan Clark, vice president of marketing for ESET North America, the AIS participant will be vice president of data center operations, Ken Carter.
In parallel, there will be a TECHNICAL TRACK led by Mike Davis of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) that will focus on network – best practices, applications, data dependent business processes, mirrored sites and other measures that can be taken to ensure a business can quickly recover from a disruption. Steve Wallace, the vice president of managed services and network engineering at AIS will be a panelist.
There will also be lively discussions about “table topics” during lunch. My understanding is that admission is free. You can learn more by clicking here.
After last month’s blackout, it is clear that business continuity is top of mind for many businesses.
[divider]Building on the Business Continuity theme, you may have seen our announcement last month: “AIS to Discuss 360° Approach to Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Application/Service Availability at the Disaster Recovery Journal (DRJ) 2011 Fall World Conference in San Diego.” Click here to learn more.
We posted the slides online if you want to take a look, click here.
Next month, we are heading out to Phoenix to participate in the Life Sciences Technology Forum which is bringing together key leaders from the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and diagnostic industries to discuss and debate challenges and proven successes in the implementation and integration of new technologies. On Monday, November 14, there are three sessions that are relevant to AIS:
- 11:15 am: Ensuring Greater Operational Flexibility in IT Solutions
- 1:45 pm: Recognizing Cost-Savings through Cloud-Based Services
- 3:30 pm: Achieving Compliance Goals through Use of Technologies
We will have a team available to answer questions from the attendees.
