New VP Sales, VP Marketing – August 2012

Brian Wood Newsletters

This news update comes on the heels of a fantastic two weeks of the Summer Games where we witnessed some phenomenal performances on land and water.

As the host, London performed really well too. Prime Minister David Cameron was quoted saying, “Britain delivered. We reminded ourselves of what we can do.”

At AIS, one of the things we can do for our clients is help them quickly and efficiently migrate their physical infrastructure to the cloud in a way that removes cost barriers. What we do is handle the IT infrastructure – that’s our core competency, which lets companies stay focused on their core competencies. Truly a winning combination!

Here are some quick updates we’d like to share with you:

OUR NEW TEAM > AIS Bolsters Management Team with Strategic Hires

We are extremely excited about the new additions to our senior management team. Cindy Greatrex is the new vice president of sales and Brian Wood has joined us as vice president of marketing. Cindy and Brian, with their breadth and depth of experience, along with their can-do attitude, are exactly what our business needs as we accelerate our expansion into the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud space.

Cindy, a New York City native, is that rare combination of senior sales executive who is skilled in driving superior sales team results PLUS she is quite fluent in nearly every aspect of data center and cloud-based architecture and infrastructure. She’ll be leveraging her nearly 20 years of experience that includes leading VAR sales at Medweb, a firm specializing in SaaS cloud telemedicine, and her time at development network security and compliance leader Integralis, AT&T Solutions, Cable & Wireless, and MCI.

Brian is a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves leader with strong success in all aspects of B2B marketing and lead generation. Leading with integrity, passion, creativity, and humor, Brian is responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing and demand generation activities. One of his more notable recent accomplishments was successfully transforming the brand, positioning, and industry perception of San Diego-based Continuous Computing from an earnest-yet-adolescent telecom platforms vendor into a fast-moving, high-growth global wireless infrastructure leader. The result? A richly-valued acquisition by Radisys (NASDAQ: RSYS), a much larger industry competitor, yielding substantial returns for company investors plus a broader engineering and manufacturing base to solidify continued product innovation for existing and future customers.

Along with the new hires, we have promoted two members of our staff who played an integral role in launching BusinessCloud1 and positioning the company for growth.

Steve Wallace is now the AIS chief technology officer. Frank Gaff is vice president and chief compliance officer.

Commenting on the senior leadership team changes, CEO Tim Caulfield stated “We are well-positioned to rapidly grow the business, we have the capital, a portfolio of game changer new products that leverage our core competencies, and now an amazing management team to drive our efforts.”

OUR EXPERTS > Ken Carter on AFCOM Panel

Following up on another item from last month, AIS vice president of data center operations Ken Carter participated in a panel discussion at the Southern California AFCOM, the leading association of data center management professionals, quarterly group meeting with other representatives and subject matter experts in the data center design, build and operations industry. The focus was primarily on the evolution of data center design and construction over the past few years, coupled with an interactive assessment of what data center owner requirements may be in the next several years, and how these requirements could be achieved. While the other participants talked about pre-fabricated modular designs with focus on scalability, energy efficiency initiatives, tools and products, and integration of emerging technologies with legacy systems, Mr. Carter offered a fresh perspective which placed the emphasis on providing a tailored solution for an IT client, focusing on the clients business model and information technology solution requirements.
