Small businesses have limited resources in securing their information systems and data, yet they are increasingly being attacked by cybercriminals.
In fact, 72 percent of breaches affect companies with fewer than 100 employees, according to an infographic prepared by CBS Interactive Branded Content and security firm Bitdefender.
Most small businesses are worried about cyberattacks, yet many have inadequate security procedures in place to protect their data, the infographic explains.
For example, 71 percent of employees at small businesses are allowed access to secure networks using personal devices, and 35 percent keep work data on their laptops. In addition, more than three-quarters of management at small businesses admit they do not understand cybersecurity, 80 percent do not use data protection and 91 percent do not use endpoint/mobile device security.
