Mr. McCormack is a world-renowned security expert having served in multiple technical and executive roles in the cybersecurity field within the United States government. Before entering the private sector, Mr. McCormack served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) where he led a multi-agency Executive Branch tasking to design mitigation capabilities to prevent future WikiLeaks-type breaches.

He began his career as a cryptology officer in the US Navy where he helped establish the Navy’s first comprehensive security program for the fleet networks. After leaving the Navy, he served in various security architecture and testing roles with clients such as National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Reserve Bank, and Diebold electronic voting machines.

Mr. McCormack re-entered federal service as the Chief Security Architect for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where he served in multiple security roles including Director of Security Engineering and the Director of Cybersecurity Operations. After leaving federal service in 2012, Mr. McCormack joined Aerstone, a privately-held cybersecurity consultancy, with the goal of offering cutting-edge, intelligence community-grade security programs to the financial, insurance and critical infrastructure industries.

Mr. McCormack holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and an MBA from the University of West Florida (UWF). He maintains CISSP, CSSLP, CMMI, and ITIL certifications.
