Greg Rollet replaces Tim Caulfield; served on executive leadership team of regional data center operator Peak 10
SAN DIEGO, September 16, 2013 – AIS (American Internet Services), a Southwestern provider of tailored data center and cloud service solutions, today announced the appointment of Greg Rollet as the company’s new chief executive officer. Mr. Rollet takes over from Tim Caulfield who has served as the company’s top executive since September 2010 and is transitioning into an advisory role for private equity firm Seaport Capital, an AIS investor.
“Greg Rollet embodies the leadership qualities we value in a chief executive and the board is confident that under his management we will achieve our full potential for future growth and success,” said Scott McCormack, partner at Seaport Capital and chairman of the AIS board of directors. “We’ve worked with and admired Greg for many years while he was on the executive leadership team at Peak 10. He’s just what AIS needs at this point in our growth and expansion.”
Mr. Rollet has an extensive technology background with nearly 30 years of business, sales and management experience, including 20+ years in the IT sector. Immediately prior to joining AIS he was senior director of operations and service delivery at EMC where he managed over 150,000 square feet of hosting and cloud infrastructure supporting EMC business units worldwide. Before joining EMC, Mr. Rollet served eight years at regional data center operator Peak 10, including four years as senior vice president of market operations with responsibility for overseeing the financial, service delivery, support, sales management, and facilities operations.
McCormack added, “The AIS Board would like to thank outgoing CEO Tim Caulfield for his leadership over the past three years. Under Tim’s guidance AIS solidified its infrastructure across seven facilities and diversified into new service areas including disaster recovery, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and managed storage.”
“I am delighted to join AIS and lead the company forward,” stated Greg Rollet, AIS CEO. “The people, processes, facilities, service quality, and customer base are outstanding, and with businesses nationwide recognizing the many benefits of outsourced IT infrastructure, we at AIS are optimistic we can expand with enterprises that demand the best in security, compliance, connectivity, and customer service.”
Rollet added, “One of my first orders of business will be to meet with, listen to, and understand the needs of our 500+ customers in the Southwest.”
