We had a very active May and have rolled into June with a lot of momentum. We made two very significant announcements. We have passed the rigorous SSAE 16 SOC 2.
On May 21 we announced successful completion of the SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 and the SSAE 16 SOC 2 Type 2 audits for our San Diego and Phoenix enterprise-class data centers. These third-party audits of the AIS data center services serve to further demonstrate the commitment we have made to provide a high level of standards for compliance and security.
On May 23 we announced that we signed an agreement with Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading global provider of data center solutions, to expand our presence in the Van Buren facility located in Phoenix, Arizona. The AIS Van Buren Data Center (VBDC) serves as a focal point for the company’s disaster recovery / business continuity service offering and will play a key role in the AIS BusinessCloud1 infrastructure-as-a-service offering.
AIS is able to provide support for almost any customer compliance standard.
And speaking of BusinessCloud1, you may have seen the notice we sent about our Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering that can be used for IT extension with Layer 2 connection to your current infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud solution for instant IT scalability, or even a Zero CAPEX disaster recovery site.
[divider]BusinessCloud 1 is San Diego’s first full-featured VMware-based cloud service.
Designed with security, performance, and redundancy in mind, here are some noteworthy highlights:
- No single points of failure (SPoF).
- Integrated VMware network and storage Quality of Service (QoS) feature set to ensure maximum uptime.
- Network storage is redundant, diversified, and optimized for performance.
- Self-healing systems architecture with automated failover.
- High-speed network access provided via the AIS regional optical and transit network.
And there’s more! We have some exciting events coming up.
On June 28, we will be hosting a lunch & learn session featuring Timothy Chou, a noted authority on cloud computing.
Later that day, we will be hosting a reception for the members of BIOCOM (“Putting the Cloud in Context… Laying the Foundation for the Future”) with Mr. Chou headlining.
Looking ahead to July, we will be participating High Tech Night at Petco Park, which is taking place on Tuesday, July 17 when the San Diego Padres play the Houston Astros. See your account rep for details.
That’s a wrap for this update. Thanks for your time and thank-you for your business!
Best Regards,
Tim Caulfield
