AIS has been very busy – lots of activity as we roll into the summer. AIS BusinessCloud1 was officially rolled out on June 27. Our Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering is based on the widely used VMware software suite with state-of-the-art compute and storage technology featuring Arista Networks, Cisco, Dell, and NetApp. We remove cost barriers so companies can quickly and efficiently migrate to the cloud by gaining access to compute and storage on demand. AIS BusinessCloud1 is San Diego’s first full featured VMware-based cloud service.
Jeff Paschke, the research manager for multi-tenant datacenters at 451 Research, just did a write-up titled “AIS introduces virtual datacenter cloud, expands in Phoenix and upgrades in San Diego.”
SOC 3 Audit: AIS successfully completed its SSAE 16 SOC 3 audit for its data centers. Service Organization Controls (SOC) Reports help customers build trust and confidence in a company’s control procedures. The SOC 3 is a summary Trust Services Report that documents assurances on AIS’ controls related to the Security principle but without the detailed description of tests and results contained in SOC 2. Last month we mentioned our successful completion of the SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 and the SOC 2 Type 2 audits for our San Diego and Phoenix enterprise-class data centers.
Lunch & Learn: We had an excellent turnout for the lunch & learn session featuring Dr. Timothy Chou, a noted authority on cloud computing that took place on Thursday, June 28.
Based on some of the feedback received, Dr. Chou is considering doing a one-day executive seminar on cloud. If you are interested, please contact us.
