Happy November!
We hope your Halloween was scary and that your Thanksgiving will be bountiful. We’re definitely hitting our stride here at AIS, with lots of exciting news to share – so here goes.
[divider]ClearCompute Unveiled
We just unveiled our special Life Sciences Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that supports a growing library of popular research tools including BLAST, Galaxy, and RNA-Seq commonly used by biotech, genomics sequencing, and pharmaceutical scientists.
Called AIS ClearCompute, the platform consists of “best-of-breed” compute and storage technologies and leverages the AIS high-speed network connectivity, our keen understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, and our close geographic proximity to the Life Sciences community in the Southwestern region.
We worked closely with Cirrhus9, a full service technology and cloud computing system integrator with deep knowledge of the Life Sciences space, to develop this platform.
AIS ClearCompute joins our existing cloud computing portfolio that consists of AIS BusinessCloud1, San Diego’s first full-featured VMware-based cloud service built with state-of-the-art compute, network, and storage technologies optimized for security, performance, and reliability.
[divider]AIS Featured in 451 Research / Tier 1 Research Write-up
As you may already know, last month we announced the availability of our flagship AIS BusinessCloud1 cloud service in Phoenix, Arizona.
Tier 1 Research analyst Michael Levy toured our Van Buren data center in Phoenix and included us in a write-up about “Phoenix providers you should know.”
In it, he provided details about the facility, pointing out that “all critical power systems in this location are configured to a 2N redundancy. In terms of space, the AIS Phoenix footprint is 63% utilized; however, in terms of power, it is only 14% utilized.”
He also noted how a significant portion of our customer base in Phoenix consists of existing clients that leverage this facility for disaster recovery purposes, using our diversely routed private optical network between datacenters for secure Layer 2 connectivity. In fact, roughly 75% of the provider’s Phoenix customers are based in San Diego; the remaining 25% are headquartered in Phoenix and other locations.

We’ve got a New Look!
Not to bury the lead here, but if you linked to any of the above, you may have done a double take. It’s true, the AIS website has had a makeover.
We overhauled the entire site to improve user experience, facilitate navigation, increase search engine optimization, integrate social media, and ease content administration.
The feedback so far is quite positive. What do YOU think? Please let me know at: brian.wood@aisdevsite.propelmg.com
