Fundraising efforts include participation in Leukemia Cup Regatta and a Special Event at Petco Park

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 20, 2011 – American Internet Services (AIS), a leading provider of enterprise-class data center and connectivity services in the western United States, today announced its proactive campaign to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ® (LLS).

The AIS for LLS campaign consists of the following components:

1. AIS CEO, Tim Caulfield will be racing his sailboat, the S/V Antara, in the Leukemia Cup Regatta event sponsored by the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club off Newport Beach, CA. This is something he has participated in since 2008 and has resulted in quite a bit of money being raised (In fact, 2008 his team won and brought in even more dollars towards the LLS efforts).

2. AIS will be leading the charge by being one of the title sponsors of event. Joining AIS are Barney & Barney, and Power Secure.

3. For those interested in being part of the AIS for LLS extended crew, AIS has created a fundraising outing: On Wednesday, May 4, the San Diego Padres have an afternoon game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. For $40, participants will get a ticket to the game, a hot dog & coke, plus a commemorative t-shirt.

“I have been involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s fundraising efforts in Orange County for many years,” said Tim Caulfield, chief executive officer at AIS. “With my new role at San Diego-based American Internet Services, I felt the timing was perfect to expand the territory to raise even more funds for a cause that is near and dear to my heart.”

Caulfield has served a board member, president of the Orange County Chapter, and at the national level as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He has first hand knowledge of the impact of blood cancers.
